Springfield SEPTA Board Meetings

Board Meetings will occur on the 2nd Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:30. We will be meeting at Southwest Center for Independent Living, 2864 S. Nettleton. Nettleton is east of Kansas Expressway, west of Fort Avenue and intersects Battlefield (Hardees is on the corner).

Our next board meeting has been canceled.  In its place we will be hosting our first general membership meeting of the year.  This will be held on September 14th. We will be approving our annual budget, reviewing and approving our bylaws as well as discussing plans for this years resource fair. If you would like to help, or just want more information plan to attend.

Making the Grade

Springfield Special Education PTA Kudos

Making the Grade Logo

Welcome to Springfield SEPTA's Making the Grade page. In their lives, our kids will face many obstacles. This is especially true of our children with special needs. All too often the obstacles come in the forms of institutions and people. We can all get frustrated and many of us have been on the verge of giving up - and then that one special person comes along and we receive a ray of hope.

This is the page for such an occasion. Maybe it's that one special teacher in your child's life. Maybe it's a school principal who has gone above and beyond to make your child feel included. Maybe it's an aide who sticks by your child making it possible for him or her to learn to their fullest potential. We all know it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. This page is not for the squeaky wheel - but for the wheels that are running smoothly. They need some attention too. This is a place to hand out a rose or give a pat on the back.

So if something has gone right for your child let the world know. Drop us a note with your story. We do ask that in writing your story, please identify as specifically as possible those to whom you are giving praise. However, we strongly caution you not to give out identifying information about your child or any other children who may be involved. Where possible we will edit stories to remove identifying pieces of information. If you would like to submit a story, please follow the link here, or click on the "Making the Grade" logo to the left.
